|Job Announcement: Lesley University - Assistant/Associate Professor, Part-Time, Child Studies

The Social Sciences Division of Lesley College is seeking a half-time, 9 month faculty member to teach courses in our interdisciplinary Child Studies major. Ability to teach research methods is preferred, as is the willingness and ability to look at sociological and child studies issues from a global perspective.This half-time position includes teaching four courses per year, as well as other typical faculty duties such as: advising undergraduate students, participating in curriculum development, serving on appropriate college and university committees and task forces, and participating in recruitment and retention activities. This assignment will begin Fall 2012; however, there is a possibility for a Spring 2012 start.
Earned doctorate in Sociology, Anthropology, or in an interdisciplinary or disciplinary field related to child and family studies other than education or psychology is required. Successful candidates will have evidence of successful undergraduate teaching and a record of research. Teaching experience must demonstrate the ability to teach child studies courses integrating sociology and other social science disciplines. Ability to work with diverse populations and excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary. Experience with internships/experiential learning is a plus.
